Delhi Technological University (DTU) is ranked 2nd and 34th amongst Best Technological Universities in India as per Times Engineering Survey and NIRF. The University provides UG, PG, Executive, and Doctoral Programs in Engineering and Management fields such as B.Tech, BDS, M.Tech, MBA, etc. The admission procedure of all courses is based on National Level Entrance Exams viz. CAT, JEE Main, or GATE. DTU Courses and Admission

The University offers an ample number of courses in the field of engineering, management, and design at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The table below outlines the courses offered, their eligibility, and duration:

DTU Admissions

The University invites various applications for several courses in the field of Management, Engineering, and Design. Candidates much register themselves for the desired courses. The applicants can simply follow the subsequent steps to register themselves, mode of registration is offline:

Step 1: Visit the campus of the university and collect the application form from the concerned department

Step 2: Fill in the form duly by giving correct personal and educational details and attach the required credentials 

Step 3: Pay the required fee of the application form and submit the form or post it on the official address of the university. 

Note: The Candidates are requested to register themselves on the concerned entrance exam for admission in DTU.

Selection Procedure

DTU B.Tech. Admission

Admission to the B.Tech. programs at DTU is made on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in Class XII and candidate’s performance in JEE Main.

  • CBSE - 40% weight age
  • JEE Main - 60% weight age

The final selection of the program is based on the allocation of seats through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA Counselling).

DTU BBA And B.Des. Admission

BBA and B.Des aspirants get admitted on the basis of their marks obtained in UCEED exam conducted at the national level. 

DTU Cutoff

Candidates satisfying their eligibility with Cutoff will only be considered for admission in any course. Delhi Technological University Cutoff indicates the minimum percentage required to take admission in a particular course. The University declares subsequent cut off lists until all the seats are filled in the affiliated colleges. DTU B.Tech Cutoff 2018 came up with 6 rounds while Cutoff for MBA students through CAT was closed after two rounds. DTU Cutoff is affected by a number of applicants in a year and the highest percentage scored by students in the concerned entrance exam. 
Note: The university allows relaxation in cut off marks to SC, ST, OBC, ECA, PWD, and women candidates in all the reserved category.

DTU Scholarships

The University of Delhi gives scholarships to the DTU students. Some of them are-

  • Pandit Man Mohan Nath Dhar Scholarship for undergraduate financially weak students
  • Inder Kohli and Anand Kohli Scholarships to the students passing Senior Secondary School Examination with first division marks
  • Madan Mohan Krishna Kaul Scholarships for the students enrolling their names in B.E Electronics/Electricals/Mechanical and Civil first-year courses.
  • Smt. Savitri Agnihotri Scholarships for those who join the 1st-degree program in any one of the Faculty of Technology branches.

DTU Facilities

Library: DTU Library is a three-storied centrally air-conditioned spread over an area of 5000 Sq. meters. It also has a conference hall with a capacity of 150 people and a reading room for 300 people. It has a rich set of books collection with almost 1,23,978 books in the main library, 52,700 in General book bank, 9,057 in SCP Book Bank and 2085 received through donation.

Health Services: It has a fully-fledged 20-bed hospital block. The Services of two medical practitioners are available to the students. It also invites special medical practitioners for ENT, eye, dental care, etc., once a week.

EDUSAT Studio: DTU is one of the AICTE EDUSAT Base network centers where expert’s lectures and programs related to engineering, science, etc. are conducted.

Sports: DTU has provided the best of the facilities in sports and games for its students. It has special dedicated courts for almost all of the major games.

Delhi Technological University was established with the name Delhi Polytechnic in the year 1941, later changed its name into Delhi College of Engineering was the first engineering college in Delhi. The University aims to expand human potential with analytical techniques and integrity by providing various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. It is considered as the equivalent of several IITs and NITs.

Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) is one of the leading universities in India. In the year 2018-19, Delhi Technological University (DTU) has established its new campus in East Delhi by the name of University School of Management & Entrepreneurship (USME) which offers BA (H) Economics and BBA courses.

  • Admission to BA (H) Economics and BBA courses offered by USME is based on the performance in qualifying examination.
  • B.Tech (Regular) admission is based on a valid score in JEE Main followed by Joint Admission Counselling.

DTU BBA, BA & B.Des. Admission 2020

University School of Management & Entrepreneurship (USME) is the new campus of Delhi Technological University located in East Delhi. It offers BBA and BA (Honors) Economics at UG level. 50% marks in 10+2 is the minimum eligibility criteria for these courses. The merit list will be drawn on the basis of total scores of best 4 subjects including English as a subject. 

Admission is granted on the basis of marks in 10+2. DTU also offers B.Des. with an intake of 60 students which is offered for a duration of four years.

Minimum eligibility for B.Des. program is candidates must have passed 10+2/ PUC/ Intermediate examination or HSC Vocational examination recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Selection is done on the basis of UCEED score.

Key Points:

  • 85% seats are reserved for those candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from the school located in Delhi or NCT of Delhi.
  • 15% seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to the school located outside Delhi.
  • 10% of marks are relaxed for SC/ST category candidates and 5% for OBC candidates. 
  • 10% relaxation of marks is also done for PwD candidates and under Defense category 5% marks are relaxed.
  • For B.Des., candidates who have passed Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects are also eligible to apply.
  • Application form for BA and BBA can be filled online on payment of INR 1000 as application fee.

DTU Reservation Criteria

Reservation for the seats, for each branch will be in sections of,

  • 15% for the Scheduled Caste, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) 
  • 27% for the Other Backward Classes belonging to the “ Non Creamy layer”. 
  • 5% reservation for Persons with Disabilities in each category 
  • 10% reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
  • And 5% reservation for Defence Personnel
  • 1 seat will b e reserved for Kashmiri migrant over the total seats.
  • 1 seat for a single girl child , with nonsiblings and belongs to Delhi or Delhi NCR.
